Fashion for a Cause: Fashionable ways to support victims of Japan Earthquake and Tsunami

Fashion designers like Ralph Lauren and Tory Burch are lending a helping hand and creating special items for Japan Relief. This is a great way to give your support the all of the victims in Japan. Every little bit helps. When these items are purchased the proceeds are going towards relief for Japan. Some designers are even donating 100% of their proceeds. Here are a few items that you can purchase.

Also according the Necole Bitche and Fashion Bomb Daily, Solange Knowles, a style society favorite, and super stylist Ty Hunter are sporting T-shirts, designed by her son Julez, to help support those in Japan. The shirts are called "Julez for Japan T-shirts.  Check out her twitter page for more details about pricing, availability, etc. http://twitter.com/solangeknowles

You can also make donations directly at http://www.japancharities.com/.

Celeb Style: 53rd Annual Grammy Awards

What better way to spend the eve of Valentine's Day than parked in front of your 42 inch flat screen with home theater and the Grammy's blasting through. All types of musicians, actors and celebrities show up to the red carpet with some of the most interesting ensembles I've ever seen. Grand entrances like Lady Gaga's and crazy "out of the box" outfits worn by Nicki Minaj can definitely over shadow the debonair men and chic women who grace the red carpet. So...here are a few of my favorites from last night's awards.

First up, Miss Selena Gomez looking very grown-up in her J Mendel gown. I love her choice of color and her wavy hair.

Amber Reilly from Glee looks gorgeous in Ema Savahl dress. I think short is the way to go for the Grammy's the embellishment on her dress were hand painted. Love it!

Another short dress that I loved was Eva Longoria's Ashi dress. The ruffle design is what drew my attention to this dress. It's also nice to see Ms. Longoria is something short for once.

Raphael Saadiq looked very polished at the Grammys. I wasn't able to find who exactly he was wearing. Absolutely love the design on his jacket.

The newest "Idol judge" looks fabulous in her mini Pucci dress and mirrored Christian Louboutin peep-toe pumps.

Drake along with his mother look very nice. The all black is very chic but I would love to see Drake play around with a splash of color every now and then.

I really wish I could have found a picture of Tyga by himself. He absolutely surprised me with his red carpet look. The white dinner jacket is by far my favorite formal look for men. He gets an A- from me. Only because his pants seemed like they were sagging. But he should definitely share someone of his style with his counterparts. :-)

Weekend Fun: ATLANTA

I got a chance to spend my weekend in Atlanta this weekend. I wasn't really in a mood to party or go out most of the weekend but I did get a chance to see some fun, cool, and interesting places in Atlanta. So Friday I spent most of the day in the airport. I touched down in ATL around 3 p.m. and just took some time to unwind. Later that night I went to dinner in Little 5 Points at a restaurant called The Porter. They have the bar area where you can choose from many different draft beers and they have a pretty good wine selection, but they also have a great food. My favorite part was dessert, an apple beignet served a la mode. yum...

Saturday I went to enjoy the World of Coca-Cola in downtown ATL and spent the remainder of the day shopping. Little 5 Points has a great selection of vintage stores and thrift stores. I found a really nice Michael Kors sweater in one of the vintage stores!! I also went to a clothing boutique called Wish they have a great sneaker selection on their bottom floor. After leaving Little 5 Points I spent the remainder of the afternoon at the mall. Most of the retail stores were having great sales. They're clearing out all of the winter apparel to get ready for spring.

Sunday I went to brunch at Thumbs Up Diner and went on a tour at the CNN Global Headquarters. Unfortunately I was not able to take any photos while on the tour. But it was definitely very interesting. If you ever get a chance to come to ATL you should check it out.

Here's some photos from my weekend as an ATLien!

Hello All! TGIF!!

So I was doing some reading and I saw that a new movie called Black Swan is being released in theaters today. It's a thriller film about the relationship between a professional ballet dancer and her rival. Lately a lot of things in fashion have been inspired by this film. I came across a post on

Cyber Monday!!!!

So if you didn't know already, today is "Cyber Monday." This day was established about 5 years ago as the unofficial kick off to holiday shopping. It's always the Monday following Thanksgiving. The deals are just as good as Black Friday and you don't have to deal with all of the chaos and aggressive Black Friday shoppers. Plenty off stores have great deals such as Apple, Levi's, Forever 21, Lord & Taylor, DSW and Sephora, just to name a few. So are you going to do any Cyber Monday shopping today?? Comment and let me know of other stores with deals today.

Weekend Fun

This weekend I had a chance to go support my fellow Aggies at an ArtOfficial Shop event in Washington, DC. The ArtOfficial crew displayed their latest T-shirt designs and I even got the chance to wear one of the shirts while at the event. Despite the 100 degree weather I had a really good time. Check it out...{For more information about ArtOffical Shop go to http://www.artofficialshop.com/products}

What's the Tea?!

Over the weekend I had a chance to go to a tea party hosted by the Baltimore Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. It was very nice, the decor was beautiful and everyone looked so nice in their hats. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find a hat to wear to the Tea but its okay, I still really enjoyed myself. See the pics below.

I Love N.E.R.D.s

This weekend I got a chance to see one of my favorite bands perform, N*E*R*D!! When it comes to fashion I've always admired Pharrell and his original style of dress. They performed on this past Saturday at Towson University's "Tigerfest" I had a blast. Here's some pics from the concert.

ArtOfficial Intelligence Launch Party

ArtOfficial Intelligence, an up and coming t-shirt and clothing line, is creating a lot of buzz in the DC Metro area. This line features out-of-the-box designs focusing on black greek lettered organizations, music, style and life. Owners and business partners Derrick Beasley, Donald Boone, Dorian Boone, and Matthew Green officially launched the clothing line on January 2, in Washington, D.C. The release party was held at Jin Lounge, where the t-shirts were also showcased. The live performance by rising DC artist Locke Kaushal was definitely another highlight of the night. Before the night was over I had a chance to sit down with partner, Donald Boone, to talk about the line.

What inspired the clothing line?
- We originally created the line to provide a contemporary alternative to current black greek clothing. We were all pretty fed up with the options that were on the market for those affiliated with black greek lettered organizations and we thought we could create something better. Then once we really started exploring options, we decided that we could expand on the idea and make clothing for everyone. We didn't want to box ourselves in with one market or one type of person.

Is the clothing line going to be made up of only T-shirts?
- No, not at all. T-shirts are just a starting point. Our aim is to build up our brand image with t-shirts. They offer a good starting point. They're simple, relatively easy to produce, and they allow us to be creative. From here, the sky is the limit. Once we have a little brand recognition, we plan to expand to jackets, sweaters, watches, bathing suits, everything! Once people really recognize who we are, I can see us producing almost anything.

Describe your personal style.

- My personal style evolves with time, and... money, lol. I've always enjoyed being well dressed but I've been limited by how much money I have in my pocket. But I would describe myself as a laid back kind of guy. You won't see me wearing anything too groundbreaking but I like to look good. I love ties, and I love dressing up. But after that, I'm a t-shirt, hoody, with a cool pair of slacks with a pair of Rainbows kind of guy. I haven’t always been that way. 3 years ago you wouldn’t have caught me with my toes out and jeans that weren’t 2 sizes too big. But hey, you live and you learn.

Who are some of your favorite designers/clothing stores/clothing websites?
- I love the way Express dress shirts feel. They are all I buy. For everyday clothes, I enjoy shopping at stores like Urban Outfitters, HM, Heritage, and Uniqlo. Except Uniqlo doesn't have an online store! It angers me that I have to travel to NY or internationally to shop there. As far as online stores go, I like sites like Karmaloop and Johnny Cupcakes. I and the other members of ArtOfficial really look up to him and what he does.

Where can readers buy your clothing?
www.artofficialshop.com

We have our latest and greatest clothes from our release event there.

Are there any new products coming up?
- We're actually working on a few things. The first being a Valentine's Day line of t-shirts, and the second a black history month shirt. We'll be shooting a look book with Pathological Designers very soon and we want to feature both designs there. It should be great. We have a lot of creative guys and when we come together, we make great things happen.
